About

Progressive
neo classics.

Eric Christenson has been shaping boards out of Costa Mesa for over two decades. While he embraces the legends before him, he also looks forward to fresh ideas and shapes. This fusion of traditional style and modern performance has resulted in the creation of progressive, neo classics — boards that honor the past without being stuck in it.

Every board is shaped by hand. Carried by discerning shops in California and Japan. Ridden by surfers who know the difference.

Eric Christenson shaping

"The board in the stand is the only board that matters."

As demand for EC Surfboards continues to grow at a seemingly exponential rate, his shaping philosophy remains the same… The board in the stand is the only board that matters. As a consummate craftsman, his passion for detail is palpable, and “shortcut” is not in his shaping vocabulary.

The layman may overlook the concave deck or the subtleties of foil and line, but it’s all there in the foam. A physical manifestation of Bruce Lee ideologies and hydrodynamics.

At the heart, he rests his laurels on the idea that no matter who the end user — novice or seasoned pro — they will receive a board that has been nurtured from start to finish. And it will go like a bat out of hell.
